Hi,
btw and fyi, there is Linked-In group: "Monte Carlo Simulation, Excel and Model Risk" where members (mostly if not all from corporate world) comment on different software packages (@risk, crystal ball etc.) but so far not as open source/free share

looking forward to your interview with JG!

best,

It actually was already two years ago. How time flies...

You will be happy to hear that soon up will be a post in which I interview Jérémie Gallien, an operations research guru who specialises in exactly this sort of modelling -- and some of your questions will be answered there!

For myself, I can say that I have yet to see any such model working in my own experience, which is one of the reasons why I am so excited about the spin-off from the Zambian project, in which a parameterised model is used to exactly that sort of simulations.

Hi Michael , maybe you remember from a cup of coffee we had in A;dam, last year, or was it already 2 years ago?

anyway, from the above posting (31July) i am interested to know more about simulation models and software to apply on supply chain movements. I know there are several programs, excel add-ons to - in principle - do monte carlo simulations of stock levels, consumptions, losses etc. over a typical central-regional-provincial stores' set up but haven't see one working as yet. Have you?
